Liberal politicians, like all evil spirits, love to be summoned but hate to be bound; and, once freed from their containment through artifice or carelessness, tend to inflict grievous damage upon their surroundings—they may even devour their summoners. This is why, to restrain them, our Founders, wizards of liberty that they were, instituted a Constitutional Republic based on the theory of checks and balances, and why, once conjured by the electorate, the peddlers of political ectoplasm always probe relentlessly for weaknesses in their bindings.
The latest and perhaps most destructive of these socialist servitors is, of course, that Mephistophelean Marxist Barack Obama, who, aided and abetted by a number of fellow-traveling imps in and out of government (but most particularly the lesser Democratic Party entities, Pelosi and Reid), has, by the simple deception of pretending that the Constitutional Triangle of Checks and Balances binds him only where he says he does, managed to become master of those he was summoned to serve—an unfortunate but not unforeseeable result easily remedied by the appropriate banishing ritual, scheduled to be performed one week prior to New Moon in November next.
Sorcerous analogies aside, Obama’s unconstitutional presumptions will no doubt continue until he is removed from office. He is a president guided by ideology and driven by narcissism. Examples abound:
- The Obama administration has taken federal-state relations to a new low in its quest for an unprecedented expansion of presidential power. In response to Arizona’s efforts to identify and arrest undocumented immigrants, the president claims that he can preempt state law whenever its enforcement might irritate a foreign government.
This unconstitutional power grab cannot stand. While the challenge by 26 states to the 2010 Affordable Care Act seeks limits on Congress’s powers, the Arizona law defends the fundamental authority of states to act in contravention of the president’s preferences.(Obama’s Imperial Power Grab On Immigration)
- The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is on a mission to further unilaterally expand its already vast regulatory powers in the name of “sustainable development.” Congress should take action to rein in the agency before it’s too late. [Ed. Note - UN Agenda 21. See Obama: Just An Old-Fashioned 'Agrarian Reformer']
Sustainability: “to create and maintain conditions, under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, that permit fulfilling the social, economic, and other requirements of present and future generations.”
The EPA would carry out this broad agenda without congressional approval by claiming authority under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA). (EPA’s “Sustainability” Agenda: Vast Power Grab)
- Once again our government uses a busy holiday season to pass draconian legislation. This time ripping apart our civil liberties — the Sixth Amendment to the Constitution. (Obama, Congress defy Constitutional rights)
- President Obama said Friday he will not be bound by at least 20 policy riders in the 2012 omnibus bill funding the government, including provisions pertaining to Guantanamo Bay and gun control.
After he signed the omnibus into law Friday, the White House released a concurrent signing statement saying Obama will object to portions of the legislation on constitutional grounds. [Ed. Note - ??!!]
Signing statements are highly controversial, and their legality is disputed. Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush, broke the record for most signing statements by a president.
“I have advised the Congress that I will not construe these provisions as preventing me from fulfilling my constitutional responsibility to recommend to the Congress’s consideration such measures as I shall judge necessary and expedient,” Obama said as he signed the bill into law. (Obama says he’s not bound by Guantanamo, gun-control provisions)
The examples cited above are merely the most egregious annexations of authority undertaken during the past week. Surveyed in its loathsome entirety, the Obama presidency is a veritable encyclopedia of extra-Constitutional usurpation. It’s time to ensure it goes out of print.
