1,001 Obamian Nights

Like Burton’s Arabian Nights, there are 1,001 reasons to oppose the re-election of Barack Hussein Obama. The fact of his race is not one of them.  On the other hand, the Obama campaign certainly believes that phenotype is the primary reason that one group of citizens should vote for him.   Thus, we have African-Americans for Obama, created by Barack Obama in the most blatant bit of racial hustling seen since Jesse Jackson was in his prime.  In the words of Stephanie Brown, National African-American Vote Director:

One of the fondest memories from my childhood in Cleveland was my introduction to community organizing…I’m proud to organize African Americans across the country as we rally to keep the first African-American President of the United States in office for a second term.

A ‘post-racial’ presidency? As Da Tagliare remarks at Godfather Politics:

[...] over the past three years, I’ve read so many similar reports of black people voting for Obama solely on the color of his skin. In reality, that makes the 2008 presidential election the most racist election in US history. Furthermore, the people who claim to fight racism are the ones that made it a racist election.  Nonetheless, many of Obama’s supporters are quick to accuse others of that which they are guilty, a tried-and-true tactic from the Progressive’s book of dirty tricks:

Astroturfing—the act of trying to boost one’s image online with fake comments, paid-for reviews, made-up claims and testimonials. (Urban Dictionary)

A personal example from last night’s twittering, in which a tweet I entered following the Academy Awards was changed then re-tweeted by what I suspect is one of Obama’s many underhanded (or is that lefthanded?) zombies:

This serial offender has been reported to the Twitter gendarmes, of course, but as of this writing, he remains on the loose.  A minor incident in my case, but a serious problem on the national level, where the slander of Obama’s opponents is routine, conducted with impunity, and ignored by the mainstream media.

By next January, America will have endured not 1,001 but 1,460 Obamian nights.  No one is racist because they’re unwilling to see 1,461.
