The article, published in the Journal of Medical Ethics, says newborn babies are not “actual persons” and do not have a “moral right to life”. The academics also argue that parents should be able to have their baby killed if it turns out to be disabled when it is born…

 “The moral status of an infant is equivalent to that of a fetus in the sense that both lack those properties that justify the attribution of a right to life to an individual.”

The authors therefore concluded that “what we call ‘after-birth abortion’ (killing a newborn) should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled”.

Let’s try a little experiment in word substitution in order to clarify the arguments of the ‘ethicists’:

• “Newborn babies Jews are not actual persons and do not have a moral right to life.”

• “The moral status of an infant a Jew is equivalent to that of a fetus in the sense that both lack those properties that justify the attribution of a right to life to an individual.”

• “What we call after-birth abortion ‘The Final Solution’ (killing a newborn Jew) should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn  Jew is not disabled.”

Now let’s return to academia, where the outraged Professor Julian Savulescu, director of the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics, is busy wringing his bloody hands over supposed death threats received by the article’s authors:

He said those who made abusive and threatening posts about the study were “fanatics opposed to the very values of a liberal society”…

Hmm.  It might seem to the layman that most of the death threats are those being offered by ‘ethicists’ advocating the cold blooded murder of innocent babies. But what does the layman know? Professor Savulescu and his associates are the experts—they have degrees. Let’s try another word substitution:

• “those who made abusive and threatening posts about the study National Socialism were ‘fanatics opposed to the very values of a liberal society’…”

 Ah, yes—the ‘liberal society.’  Eliminate the word “National,” and you’re left with Socialism in all its modern international glory:
