In government, as in nature, birds of similar species flock together. Which is why you see so many red feathers protruding from the Obama aviary. The latest left-winger elevated to a lofty perch is Obama’s California fundraiser, Tony West, now the number three man at the Department of Injustice. West hails from Nancy Pelosi’s People’s Republic of San Francisco where he made his bones working on the mayoralty campaign of the neo-communist from Oakland, Ron Dellums. He raised cash for Michael Dukakis and John Kerry, served as an aide to Clinton’s Waco Wacko Janet Reno during the Slick Willie years, and then signed on as defense attorney for the American al-Qaeda John Walker Lindh, the Left Coast laddie captured in Afghanistan in 2001 after fighting against U.S. troops. West wasn’t able to get his traitorous and unrepentant client off the hook, but he expressed admiration for Lindh’s “intellectual curiousity,” and said:

“He is not a terrorist…I truly believe John will have a lot to offer after his incarceration…”

West is a hard-core progressive with a soft spot for jihadists and a proven ability to raise millions of dollars in cold cash for electioneering lefties—an Obama kind of a guy. And Tony’s wife Maya is an Obama kind of gal. Maya Harris is the

[...] Vice President for Peace & Social Justice at the Ford Foundation…Prior to joining the Ford Foundation, she served as the Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Northern California.

In her role as the head of the largest affiliate office of the ACLU, Harris directs and coordinates litigation, media relations, lobbying, and grassroots organizing work.

Another community organizer? Sometimes it seems like there’s more community organizers out there than there are communities to organize. Back to the West family business: Maya’s sister is Kamala Harris, current Attorney-General of California, and one-time mistress of former S.F. mayor, the philandering ultra-liberal Willie Brown. Kamala is a former San Francisco District Attorney whom PBS once described as a “female Barack Obama” (Lord have mercy, you mean there’s more than one?). As DA, Harris (like her brother-in-law, who leads the DOJ’s legal assault against the state of Arizona) helped put the “S” in “Sanctuary City,” situating illegal aliens in Bay area taxpayer funded training programs. And, like the President, she is a favorite of the good old Communist Party. Kamala’s other supporters include the usual suspects—the California Labor Federation, the Services Employees International Union, and a smorgasbord of independent financiers backed by the labor movement and PowerPAC.org, a left coast cadre of socialist organizers and fundraisers:

PowerPAC directs financial and human resources to strategic local and state legislative fights, ballot initiatives, and other campaigns by organizing donors who are committed to social justice politics. We identify priority areas for investment and help donors achieve maximum political impact with their political giving.

So why is Tony West and his family of activists a concern? Ulsterman spells it out:

Insiders are already indicating West may in fact be among a short list of potential replacements should Holder resign his position. So we have a former Obama campaign bundler and defense attorney of a Taliban terrorist, who also happens to be the brother in law of the California Attorney General whose state just received a multi-billion dollar housing bailout – the same man who might soon find himself being placed in the position of being the next Attorney General of the United States…

Sums it up quite nicely. It is reassuring to know there are others in the wing equally incompetent as a replacement in case any of Obama’s minions falter. I never realized how Important the AG position was till now. Great lesson in Civics.

I wish I didn’t agree with you on that last comment, Bob. I think Dark Ages really does exemplify the goal of these parasites. And now it seems too many institutions are full of them. I keep trying to hope there are more of us than there are of them, but….they are in too many positions with keys to the kingdom. Purge would be good if we could pull it off.

  Presidential historian Paul Kengor has dug up some fascinating facts about the background of David Axelrod, showing President Obama’s top political strategist to have deep ties to the American Communist Party (CPUSA) and other leftist individuals and organizations.
  
  …While a student at the University of Chicago in the early 1970s, David Axelrod began working as a political reporter for the Hyde Park Herald, which Kengor says brought Axelrod to the attention of Don Rose and David Canter. Both of these men were associated with the Communist Party and other far-left organizations.
