In modern America, it seems that no good deed goes unpunished; no bad one unrewarded. The latest case in point: the confirmation of Hanoi John Kerry as our Secretary of State. You don’t have to be a veteran of the late unpleasantness in Southeast Asia to experience profound nausea at the 94-3 vote by the gibbering buffoons who masquerade as U.S. senators — but it helps. Recall, if you will, Hanoi Johnny’s slandering of American troops back in the ’70s:
“…they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, tape wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the country side of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country…”
And a more recent calumny (from 2005):
“…there is no reason … that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the–of–the historical customs, religious customs. Whether you like it or not…”
This is the kind of glib defamation that tends to rub real veterans the wrong way, especially when offered up by one whose entire tour of combat duty was only a bit longer than semester break:
According to nearly everyone he served with in Vietnam, Kerry was a self-serving malcontent from the day he arrived in Vietnam for his brief four-month visit. He was disgruntled. He avoided combat. He didn’t obey orders. But he did go beyond the call of duty in the pursuit of one objective – seeking medals and commendations and a shortened stay in Vietnam.
But even Hanoi Johnny has his heroes. Unfortunately, most of them are on the other side; the late Vietnamese communist Ho Chi Minh for example (whom Kerry once compared to George Washington.), or the Nicaraguan red Daniel Ortega:
…The Sandinistas had ethnically cleansed the Miskito Afro-Indians and destroyed Nicaragua’s Jewish community. But none of that deterred Kerry from shaking hands with Ortega and urging Reagan to make a deal with him. (John Kerry: Still Wrong After All These Years | Frontpage)
The saturnine senator from Massachusetts is an Obama kind of guy. His boss, you see, is the man who has twice skipped the Inaugural Day Heroes Ball honoring Medal of Honor recipients, the first commander-in-chief ever to do so:
[...] Of course, it is not out of character for Obama to skip events that honor America’s most proud traditions…
In 2010, Obama decided to skip the annual Memorial Day ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and instead, go on another vacation, this time to Chicago. In doing so, he became the first president to break the tradition since the country began honoring its veterans with the national holiday.
He laid no wreath at the at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, he did not meet with the Gold Star Mothers nor did he lead the nation in a day of remembrance for those whose sacrifice make it possible for the rest of us to live in freedom.
Obama, instead, attended several private parties with his old Chicago friends. He did however, return to Washington in time to attend the Paul McCartney concert. (Obama will snub inaugural ball honoring Medal of Honor recipients…again – Examiner.com)
Well, hell. Who could blame ol’ Barry for snubbing the Medal winners, ignoring the Gold Star moms, and unwreathing the grave of the Unknown Soldier? After all, those are the very same people who Genghisized the peaceful villages of the ‘Nam, terrorized the sleeping Muslims of Iraq, and surrendered their lives for an America he detests — unforgivable sins in the red book of any respectable leftist. Just ask John Kerry.

The only worse choice would have been Jane Fonda. I guess this cements Obama’s doctrine of leading from behind. Why would anybody volunteer for “this man’s” military?
Not me, JIM. And I’m one of the fools who used to volunteer for anything …

He’d fill his cabinet with possibly former communist terrorists if he thought he could get away with it… Pretty sure Bill Ayers wrote a big part of his education agenda..
Hell, GRUMPY, I kinda thought he’d already filled the Executive branch with communist terrorists. I guess there’s never enough for him.
Reblogged this on Catholic Glasses.
Thanks, CG.
Ortega is a communist and a pedophile.
And a hero to way too many Democrats …
Looks like his whole cabinet is up for replacement. This is really going to get good when we see the EPA nominee as will as transportation. The fellow who thought we should start riding our bikes and move back to the cities. They will be even more radical. Let the hearings begin. If they are anything like Hegel’s we should be in for a wild ride.
BUNKER, as far as I’m concerned, Obama’s administration is nothing but left-wing loons, buffoons, and poltroons. Can’t see anything changing but the faces on the clowns.
As I just said on my FB page, this is the sort of thing intended to piss off Patriots.
Not many of them left in the Senate, CMB — not if you go by the 94-3 vote in favor of Hanoi Johnny.
Stupid. Stupidstupidstupid.

This is the sort of thing intended to piss off Patriots. Mind you, Patriots are the “terrorists” of today. You don’t want a worldwide Caliphate? You don’t want the NWO? You actually believe in National Sovereignty? OMG!
Kerry is a disgrace to this Country and Obama knows it.
That is why he selected him for that position.
Obama is testing the mettle of this Country and I feel it is wearing thin.
Romney was ripped for being wealthy, Kerry is more wealthy than Romney.
He married the ketchup queen and then multiplied his wealth exponentially.
Now why doesn’t the MSM denigrate Kerry ?
Why don’t they rip him a new a$$hole for being rich ?
Why don’t the conservatives run Kerry over the coals and drag him through the news every night to expose his obvious nefarious accumulation of unearned money ?
I know, and so do you Bob.
As a Vet, I despise the direction the Country is going toward.
Even the Boy Scouts are being threatened with the liberal agenda.
America, where are you ?
Kerry’s got more dough than anybody in the U.S. Senate & never earned a dime. Like I said, no bad deed goes unrewarded in modern America …

There are two seats reserved in hell for Hanoi John and Hanoi Jane.
Ringside seats, I hope, TOM …
Personally, I enjoy watching Jane get old.
As far as John goes,.. he will last as long as this administration.
