ObamaCare: Fixing What’s Not Broken

E-Mail Special Delivery:

A recent Investor’s Business Daily article provided very interesting statistics from a survey by the United Nations International Health Organization.

Percentage of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis:

  • U.S. 65%
  • England 46%
  • Canada 42%

Percentage of patients diagnosed with diabetes who received treatment within six months:

  • U.S. 93%
  • England 15%
  • Canada 43%

Percentage of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six months:

  • U.S. 90%
  • England 15%
  • Canada 43%

Percentage referred to a medical specialist who see one within one month:

  • U.S. 77%
  • England 40%
  • Canada 43%

Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people:

  • U.S. 71
  • England 14
  • Canada 18

Percentage of seniors (65+), with low income, who say they are in “excellent health”:

  • U.S. 12%
  • England 2%
  • Canada 6%

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want “Universal Healthcare” comparable to England or Canada.

Moreover, it was Sen. Harry Reid who said, “Elderly Americans must learn to accept the inconveniences of old age.”

  2. yep, reid needs to go to Canada

    • AFVET says:

Reid needs to go to Canada for experimentation on dementia.
Oh wait,.. the Canadian health care system would probably deem him unworthy of any further examination, and send him back.

      NEXT !

  3. Excellent stats to spring on my liberal neighbor! 🙂

  4. Bob Mack says:

Eternally suspicious of the motives of the Democrats/Socialists, I thought from the git-go that Obamacare was just another scam on the way to imposing Marxist doctrine on America. Market solutions to what was essentially a market problem were never explored. Establishment of risk pools to lower insurance costs were never discussed. Ergo, any responsible analyst would conclude: fraud. This irresponsibly pink legislation must go.

    Some Vitriolic Rhetoric About Repeal

[…] Nonetheless, Rep. Pingree says we need to dial the rhetoric down. And when she writes “we,” she means Republicans: “A good place to start a more civil dialog would be for my Republican colleagues in the House to change the name of the bill they have introduced to repeal health care reform.” The bill, you see, is styled the “Repeal the Job Killing Health Care Law Act.” Is Pingree insinuating that the repeal effort sent Loughner over the edge? Heaven forfend! Like the Player Queen in Hamlet, the lady protests, “I’m not suggesting that the name of that one piece of legislation somehow led to the horror of this weekend — but is it really necessary to put the word ‘killing’ in the title of a major piece of legislation? I don’t think that word is in there by accident…” And it is no accident that Pingree’s call has been taken up by all the usual suspects.

When Obamacare is re-peeled, and re-designed to use only the things conservatives want, the left is going to riot.

Lets see if any commenter can post a pic in comments or if, as I suspect it is only the blog’s administrator who can do it.

below is a pick embed string. If the string is visible or if the pic is visible…

  7. VotingFemale says:

mmm… sting is invisible. So there you have it. Only the blog’s admin can post a pic in a comment. That is as I suspected.

  8. J. P. Morgan says:

My next door neighbor and good friend is from Canada (Ex pro hockey player, Yale grad). All during the debate, he kept pleading with me, as an American citizen, not to allow a heath care system like they have in his country. He has been here as a senior executive for years on a green card, now becoming a U.S. Citizen next month. Says if the current administration keeps up their destruction of the U.S., he will just move back to Canada as he watches a great nation go down the tubes.

Bob–please email me at minerjp@comcast.net and tell me what you think of “Heavy Rotations” site visit generator. Seems to me I’m not really getting true visits to my site with them, just a lot of meaningless “hits.”

  9. The cartoon is priceless. The stats, completely believable. You should send this to Hannity and all the main shows on Fox, and Limbaugh.
