…& Deleterious Dereliction
They’ve got it all, this bunch. From betraying an ally to comforting the enemy, the guiding principle of the Obama Misadministration seems to be Never Let A Dirty Deed Go Undone. This week’s digest of dastardly debacles and deleterious dereliction:
First, the Manchurian President cashs in not only our nuclear chips, but tosses in a stack that doesn’t even belong to him in order to get the Russian bear’s pawprint on his irresponsibly flawed ‘arms control’ treaty (US Agrees To Tell Russia Britain’s Nuclear Secrets The Telegraph UK).
Information about every Trident missile the US supplies to Britain will be given to Russia as part of an arms control deal signed by President Barack Obama next week.

[…] Judi McLeod of Canada Free Press reports that in the last quarter of 2009 Code Pink was in Egypt (after wending its way through Gaza to get there) and were later joined by domestic terrorists and ObamaFriends Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. They claimed it was a “coincidence.” Uh-huh. Sure it was. Were they assisting in planning the Egyptian revolution? Sure looks like it. Was Obama involved? C’mon…what do you think?
Today, however, the Drudge Report and The UK’s Daily Telegraph are reporting about something more insidious and far more menacing to the survival of the USA and the world. On 4 February 2011, Matthew Moore, Gordon Rayner and Christopher Hope reporting for the Daily Telegraph wrote: “Information about every Trident missile the US supplies to Britain will be given to Russia, as part of an arms control deal signed by President Barack Obama next week.” So, not only has Obama destroyed the USA’s defense system but, he is bent upon taking Great Britain down with it.
Then, he decides that a man (Nidal Malik Hasan) who kills 13 Americans and wounds 29 others while shouting “Allahu Akbar” (Allah is Great) is not necessarily an Islamic extremist, and even if he is, in the interests of diversity, we shouldn’t call him one. (Senate Report On Shooting Critical Of FBI, Army GOPUSA)
[…] The enemy — Islamist extremists — must be labeled correctly and explicitly, the report said, in order for the military to counter the extremism. Lieberman made a similar argument last year in a letter to the White House about the need to accurately identify Islamic extremists as the enemy.
President Barack Obama’s top counterterrorism official, John Brennan, responded that while it is important to accurately define the enemy, using “Islamic extremist” and other similar phrases can lump a diverse set of organizations into a single group in a way that may be counterproductive.
And of course, the Sire’s henchmen continue their interminable efforts to stifle all who disagree. (Internet ‘kill switch’ bill will return CNET News).
A controversial bill handing President Obama power over privately owned computer systems during a “national cyberemergency,” and prohibiting any review by the court system, will return this year.
Obama The Internet Pharaoh: Push To Regulate Online Speech Gains Momentum (Washington Times)
[…] the Obama administration remains committed to getting its hands on the private infrastructure that serves as the backbone of online discourse. On Dec. 21, President Obama’s communications czar, Julius Genachowski, issued a decree imposing “net neutrality” rules on Internet service providers, even though Congress specifically exempted the Internet from regulation by the Federal Communications Commission. A provision of the 1996 Telecommunications Act does give the agency ability to “remove barriers to infrastructure investment,” and Mr. Genachowski pounced on this to mean he could tell companies how they should run networks they built with their own money.
Elections have consequences. In the realm of media regulation, the 2008 election meant increased influence for proponents of so-called media “localism.” The increased influence of localism at the FCC bore itself out in the recently-approved Comcast/NBC merger.
As a hypothetical, “localism” is relatively innocent. But in practice, it essentially amounts to a back-door mechanism for media regulation, which is why the FCC’s most left-wing member, Michael Copps, has been an outspoken advocate of localism as part of his proposed “public value test.”
[…] Localism is catnip for the media Marxist crowd because it helps remove capitalism from the equation, and makes political pull – which the Michael Copps’s of the country have far more of than they do entrepreneurial prowess – the sole determinant of standards for broadcasters as they pertain to “local” coverage.
And where would a corrupt cabal of committed Marxists be without the big money that pours in from their union cronies and the donors eager to buy exemptions from the onerous regulations under which they’ve placed the rest of us? (Obama Abuses Power to Favor Unions, Big Business David Limbaugh)
Is there anything about the Obama administration that doesn’t reek of discriminatory application and enforcement of laws and the arbitrary and capricious abuse of power?
Obama’s best defense against the charge that he’s doing outrageous things is that to correctly accuse him of committing these actions makes one look like a kook. Viewed alone, they are quite disconcerting. Taken together, especially with levels of audacity and arrogance that would impress any tyrant, they are immensely troubling.
Obama’s selective and inequitable wielding of governmental power suggests that he’s on a mission to correct perceived injustices, to settle the score or to exact revenge. His attitude lends credence to this.
Everything about his governance smacks of picking winners and losers and defying accountability — just because he can and no one is going to stop him.
So many arms in so many pies…but, all is not yet lost. The elections of 2012 are coming, and when you remove the tentacle from an octopus, it doesn’t grow back.
