The America of Obama’s dreams is not the one of self-reliance and entrepreneurship to which he paid phony lip service at the beginning of his speech.
It is an America in which the government, rather than the private sector, creates wealth and leads ignorant, helpless people by the nose from cradle to grave, from preschool to the academy, with the caveat that if they succeed too much, they will make themselves enemies of the state and targets for punitive action. Obama’s new American dream is an American nightmare. —David Limbaugh
Obama, smarting over the lambasting he received from a nondescript interviewer in Texas, is assuaging his ruffled red feathers by dunning supporters for wads of cash to finance his reelection (a nifty $35,800 bucks a plate at a fund raising supper in San Francisco), and in consuming ever more of the taxpayer’s gold—a relatively modest chunk (by Washington standards) going to assorted Libyan malcontents:
“I wish to inform you that the president intends to exercise his authority to draw down up to $25 million in commodities and services from the inventory and resources of any agency of the United States government,” Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs Joseph MacManus wrote in a letter to US Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Meanwhile, the gag was loosened on “Sleeping” Joe Biden’s gaffe prone mouth long enough to allow him to announce even more spending by Obama’s profligate socialist nannies, this particular splurge a mere pittance at $232 million:
“Today we are making an unprecedented commitment to combat the growing problem of prescription drug abuse. This plan will save lives, and it will substantially lessen the burden this epidemic takes on our families, communities, and workforce.”
Of course it will, Joe. After all, our war on non-prescription drugs has been such a roaring success. A recent raid down Mexico way netted a cache of golden machine guns, emerald-encrusted pistols, armour-plated Hummers and a even few rare white tigers.
[…] the Asset Administration and Disposal Service (SAE), recently took possession of a vast, chalet-style house in Mexico City that will be auctioned if its Colombian owners are convicted of drug trafficking.
The owners were arrested as they relaxed in an underground cavern fitted out with hot tubs, false stalactites, a fireplace and a skylight that looked out on to a pair of caged white tigers on the roof.
Who says that crime doesn’t pay? These guys didn’t buy all those toys with the proceeds from their first dope deal, lucrative as that transaction may have been. But Janet From Another Planet Napolitano, our scintillating Homeland Security Chieftess, assures us that the baleful influence of the Latin drug lords stops at the Rio Grande:
“There is a perception that the border is worse now than it ever has been. That is wrong. The border is better now than it ever has been.”
“The lie about border cities being dangerous has been told so many times that people are starting to believe it, but we as border communities have to speak out,” [El Paso Mayor John] Cook said.
Well, Jan & Johnny, your own people beg to differ. In fact, it seems that enterprising drug dealers have set up paramilitary listening posts in the hills of southern Arizona from where they can monitor the activities of the Border Patrol and associated lawmen:
“To say that this area is out of control is an understatement,” said an agent who patrols the area and asked not to be named. “We (federal border agents), as well as the Pima County Sheriff Office and the Bureau of Land Management, can attest to that.”
“Every night we’re getting beaten like a pinata at a birthday party by drug, alien smugglers,” a second federal agent told Fox News by e-mail. “The danger is out there, with all the weapons being found coming northbound…. someone needs to know about this!”
Someone…like the government? But they’re going to be too busy dealing with a real crisis–thwarting the GOP plan to reduce the federal deficit. Said the Man Who Would Be King of the Pachyderm’s proposal:
“I think it’s fair to say that their vision is radical.”
That, from a closet socialist who has spent the last two unconscionable years looting the Treasury? But if Obama is really serious about sticking it to the rich, there’s no better place to start than with the wealthy powder peddlers south of the border. I wouldn’t hold my breath.
