Out In The O-Zone

H/T to Tom & Dave

“If you love me, you’ve got to help me pass this bill!”

—Barack Obama

He’s out there, all right…somewhere deep in the Obama-zone, beyond the sight and sound of normal folk, out where the air is thin and the comrades thick; in that murky realm of the irrational where his voice still sends quivers up the legs of the dwindling ranks of the terminally enthralled.  In the O-Zone, seldom is heard a discouraging word—and when it is, the President and his minions routinely ignore it.  Obama’s latest half-trillion dollar spending plan, the so-called Jobs For America bill, is supported by the usual O-Zone profligates in Congress, and generally opposed by all other responsible earthlings, such as Thomas Donohue, CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce:

“It focuses too much on government spending and temporary tax breaks and too little on the trade, energy, tax, regulatory and entitlement reforms that will jolt our economy and job market back to life.” (Newsmax)

And the administration won’t cut one dime of spending to offset the bill’s $447 billion cost.  No sirree.  After all, why cut spending when there’s still people out there you might be able to rob?  As Ann Coulter points out:

Whenever liberals start loftily insisting on our obligation to our fellow man…you know some heinous public policy is coming. As soon as the dust settles, you won’t see any innocent victims being helped, only trial lawyers, government employees and other Democratic constituencies.

Obama campaigned for his national health care bill with a sad story about a campaign supporter who died of breast cancer soon after his election because — he said — she couldn’t afford health insurance, so she didn’t get a breast cancer scan in time to stop the disease.

He somberly told embarrassed audiences: “She insisted she is going to be buried in an Obama T-shirt.” (As it looks like we all will, unless we get a new president next year.)

In the O-Zone, there is no truth; only consequences.

  1. Excellent video!

I read that even some Dems are balking at this new jobs bill.

And Obama’s popularity numbers continue to sink.

  2. “In the O-Zone, there is no truth; only consequences.”

We’ve been paying the consequences for nearly three years. Now we are going to make him pay.

Super post, Bob! Loved the vid, as much as I loathe looking at his haughty, lying mug.
The o zone has terminal, vacuous hot gasses that will poison you and turn you immediately insane if you breath in the noxious fumes, so BEWARE!

Rep. Mo Brooks, writing in The Daily Caller:

In November 2006, Democrats won control of Congress. Nancy Pelosi became House speaker-elect and Harry Reid became Senate majority leader-elect. America’s unemployment rate was down to 4.5% because six million new jobs were created in the three years after the Bush tax cuts went into effect. In FY 2006-2007, America’s budget deficit was $161 billion.

After two years of Democrat congressional policies, America’s unemployment rate ballooned to 6.8% and America suffered an unsustainable $1.4 trillion FY 2008-2009 deficit.

In November 2008, President Obama was elected. For two years, Democrats completely controlled America’s economic policy.

Between November 2006 and November 2010, more than six million American jobs were lost. America’s unemployment rate deteriorated from a very good 4.5% to 6.8% in November 2008 and to 9.8% in November 2010. America has had three consecutive trillion-dollar deficits and there’s no end to the deficit spending in sight.

[…] President Obama and congressional Democrats replaced a pro-free-enterprise, job-friendly atmosphere that created over six million jobs between 2003 and 2006 with class-warfare, socialist “feel good” policies and seven million lost jobs between 2006 and 2010. Rather than reconsider their policies, they blame job creators and, of course, George W. Bush (never mind that they inherited a 4.5% unemployment rate and a growing economy in November 2006).

    Great post Bob.
Funny how commonsense kicks in just when the country is in the doldrums.
Or when their butt is on the line in the next election.
The Bamster is a millstone around their necks.
It’s a shame we have to rely on politicians to run this country.

It’s hard to put your faith in voters that put Obama in office in the first place, though. But McCain was not much of an alternative. Let’s hope the public has wised up. Hell, Pete Rose would be a better President than the current one—I’d bet on it.

  7. One of my favorite political shenanigans of all time is Texas Rep. Louis Gohmert’s snatching of the American Jobs Act bill name and pocketing it. The Dems apparently did plenty of pr research to devise that title; now Gohmert has the option of introducing the “American Jobs Act” as a two page bill that would effectively do nothing but bring the corporate tax rate to zero! Then Democrats would be moved to vote against the “American Jobs Act”! Freaking hilarious.

  8. TexasFred says:

If we love you? Ya dumb bastard, we don’t even LIKE you… Obama is the epitome of narcissism!

  9. Liberty says:

Bob, Great post, as usual delightful and entertaining. You are a funny guy with the perfect perspective.

    • Bob Mack says:

Thanks, LIBERTY. I appreciate the kind words, but nobody lampoons the libs as well as they do themselves. They’d be hilarious if they weren’t ruining the country.

  10. That video is priceless Bob.. and may be closer to the truth than we know. Might just be me, his actions and statements seem to be getting more and more surreal. They say Nixon spent his last weeks in the White House talking to pictures of dead presidents… Wonder how far away from that Obama is?

He is like a man who abuses a woman. All he wants is one more chance. This time it will be different. Will we be foolish enough to go back?
