30 Pieces Of Silver

Every generation, it seems, must have its Judas.  In my day, one who accepted the 30 pieces of silver was former U.S. Navy Lt. John F. Kerry, now the senior senator from Massachusetts, proving that in Modern America, no bad deed goes unrewarded as long as the perpetrator is a liberal.  I’ve written about the exploits of Mr. Kerry before, here and here, and I bring him up (an appropriate phrase) only as an introduction to the latest military hero of the unheroic Left, the ex-Marine wounded in action by law officers on Tuesday last, during the “Occupy” protests in Oakland, California.  As reported by Verum Serum:

Scott Olsen is the Marine Corps veteran critically injured at Occupy Oakland Tuesday night, during a confrontation between the protesters and the police…

…It has been widely reported that Olsen is a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War. But apparently his opposition to the U.S. military and the Marine Corps in which he served runs a little deeper.

The site is no longer live, but Olsen was the founder of IHateTheMarineCorps.com, a private user forum apparently dedicated to bashing the Marine Corps.

…Using this information, I also uncovered a comment from Olsen on the Yahoo Answers site from last year where he is highly critical of the Marine Corps:

“The Marine Corps thrives on its image. They convince young men and women that they’re joining a professional military organization. But that’s not the case at all, every Marine knows it, and most have no problem downplaying the bullshit to outsiders so they can protect their “beloved corps”. I noticed some of the other posters have told you not to pay any attention to my site because we’re just a bunch of ********* who couldn’t hack it, right? Maybe not hacking it means we saw through the bullshit and don’t want to take it. Maybe the brainwashing didn’t work on us. I’m not here to tell you if you should join or not. I’m here to advise you to take the people who visit my website just as seriously as anybody who tries to sell you the MC as a good thing.

My site is anonymous, these people don’t have to worry about hiding from the MC, or protecting the MC’s image or anything. It is unfiltered truth.

I respect Scott Olsen’s service, even as I do John Kerry’s, abbreviated though it was.  But when you subsequently use that service to give aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States and its Constitution, you have crossed a line.  An article by Matthew Fleischer asserting support for the “Occupy” movement by veterans is typical of the liberal response to the injuring of Mr. Olsen:

We have a lot of military combat veterans in this country who haven’t been treated very well since they left the service.

Fleischer might be right about that. But fortunately, most of us are committed foes of the anti-American ideology that spawned the current left-wing demonstrations.  This is the Oath that we all took upon induction:

“I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”

“against all enemies, foreign and domestic”  Please note that the Oath does not contain an expiration date.  And if any dewy-eyed innocents should assume that the “Occupy” movement is populated largely by other than the domestic enemies of the United States, here is but one example to the contrary:

On Tuesday, militant, Marxist, anti-war, and gay-rights activists–including some suspected of providing material support to foreign terrorist organizations–led the Occupy Chicago protesters into City Hall to stage an “in your face” protest directed at Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

We caught up with one protester, Roger Fraser, a retired Palatine, Illinois school teacher. Fraser is a proud member of the “99%” who earns a modest $7,792.75 a month from his pension.

Fraser is also known as a militant gay rights activist and a member of the Gay Liberation Network–the same organization founded by Chicago G-8 and NATO protest organizer–and militant, anti-war, social-justice radical–Andy Thayer.

With leftist indoctrinators like Mr. Fraser having done the educating, it’s no wonder that 98.5% of the public high schools and 60% of the elementary schools in Illinois have failed to meet minimum standards.  But let’s continue:

You may remember a previous interview from earlier this year, released by Andrew Breitbart, filmed at a Code Pink-led protest against the Koch brothers in Palm Springs, California–where Fraser called for “Revolution now,” and exclaimed, “Just like in Egypt!”

In the following interview, conducted yesterday inside City Hall, we asked Fraser if “this” was the kind of revolution he was talking about. Fraser told us, “This is the beginning.”

When asked what he thought it would take to achieve the activists’ goals, he remarked: “This kind of thing on a massive scale.“ He also answered in the affirmative as to whether or not the revolution would require collapsing the American government, and explained: “Because….the resistance against this will be overwhelming…very strong….and relentless.

‘Collapsing the American government’ … that is what the organizers of this movement want, that is what they’ve always wanted.  And to their everlasting shame, much of the Democratic Party and the current President of the United States seem to want it too.

Whew!!!!!! $7800 a month from his “school teacher’ retirement pension”? Teachers must not be as underpaid as we thought. Add a couple thousand more from Social Security, the guy’s knocking down a 120 G’s a year in mostly taxpayer funded retirement income, and complaining about life?

I could mention that people with certain sexual orientation issues like to play themselves off as the victim. but saying that would be politically incorrect.

  3. We have more than a few DOMESTIC ENEMIES in our midst, don’t we? I think this article is proof positive that the Obama administration is to be counted among those domestic enemies.

This *Occupy* thing, as well as the IVAW and Vets for Peace *pity party* is nothing more than a testament to the way our youth has been brainwashed by liberalism and socialism…

Scott Olsen? I don’t respect him in ANY way… He joined the Corps for what I suspect to be nefarious reasons, couldn’t hack it and got kicked out, supposedly for being a *coke head*… I hope the bastard has a headache for the rest of his miserable life…

He danced with the devil, and got hooked by a horn… I hope it f*cking HURT!

The MSM is full of pity for Mr. Olsen. Not much mention of this:

      From MercuryNews.com

In 2010, the Marines issued Olsen an “administrative discharge.” Maj. Shawn Haney, a Marines spokesman based in Quantico, Va., declined to discuss Olsen’s discharge, but said his departure could have been for anything from a medical condition to a punitive measure.

An administrative discharge is not an honorable discharge. Let’s see if that gets reported by the NY Times, et al.

We have many traitors in our midst and that’s been the problem as we haven’t done anything about them. Free Speech does not come without civic responsibility. I wish we could send all these people to China or Russia or even Iran for a year or two so they could experience just how wonderful communism is! Trust me, after about 1 month they’d be begging to come back to the big old evil capitalist USA!! We’re in BIG trouble America!! Our nation is on the verge of a violent Marxist takeover and you’d better wake up quick as 2012 may be too late!! These OWS protestors are the Marxist “useful idiots” and with each passing day they are more and more willing to turn to violence. These people are NOT your hippies of the 60s! They’ve be well indoctrinated into Marxism by their teachers and traitor college professors. A long time ago we should have started rounding traitors up and starting in our colleges and universities which have long long been breeding grounds for sedition!! Here we are on the verge of total end. Now what???

All this is very disconcerting obviously.
Many efforts are being made to throttle back the headlong plunge toward socialism in this country.
Darrell Issa is one, however he is being stonewalled by the White House and the DOJ.
The FOIA is being essentially disregarded.
My concern is the time frame involved here.
Obama, if he survives the legal attacks and the subpoenas that are headed his way, where will he stand in the next election cycle against a challenger that can use his deplorable record on the economy and his dismal ability in foreign relations ?
1 year is an eternity, given the state this economy is in, and I fully expect the libs to attempt to devastate ANYBODY who they think may pose a threat to Obama’s re-election.
This year is the time to strike.
Obama has no substance, no background, no real achievements.
His consistent posturing is a fools attempt at an escape from reality.

1 Year from now, we will see what the American People are willing to do to take this Country back from the threat of socialism, and dispense of, at least for the time being, a would be king.

He was also not injured by the police, but by his fellow protesters…if you slow the video of the incident and cut the part where it shows him, you see, though fuzzy, the object that hit him is thrown, not by the police, but by a person in a hoodie…and is thrown in the direction towards the line of officers…

    • Bob Mack says:

I’ll have to watch the video, but I know one thing. Even if it was one of the other useful idiots that clocked him, the media will never report it. This guy’s the new symbol of the “Occupy” movement.

  8. Liberty says:

Wow Bob Mack, Great post and very informative. I know, it makes me so doggone mad when the bottom line is the soldier couldn’t hack it and now all of a sudden are against everything thing the military stands for and protest against and in my opinion are treasonous.

    • Bob Mack says:

Thanks, LIBERTY. The ‘Occupy’ people have had their go. It’s time to break up their camps & chase ’em back into their rat holes. They’re a menace to public health.

Bob Mack…..your ability to document your position is refreshing and appreciated. Concurring thoughts of bos regarding the “occutards” (from Neal Boortz) are too protracted for this spot, but those thoughts are already condensed and expressed else where.
It is revulsive to realize the magnitude of our population that is void of knowledge and therefore there is no basis for logical persuations.

  12. I hate to put it this way (okay, maybe not so much) but socialists are domestic enemies. Their ideology is the antithesis of Constitutionally limited government and what a free society stands for. Unfortunately, you can’t just start terminating communists with extreme prejudice. They have the inalienable rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of crappiness. So what do we do? If you argue with a lefty, he is usually so long gone you might as well be addressing a stalk of rhubarb. We just have to concentrate on the younger generations and show them how stupid these radical occupy protesters are. They are like the gift that keeps on giving in terms of public education. And this dazed and confused marine is another teaching tool. Maybe the left ought to appreciate the marine more for his service, and he wouldn’t hate the Marines so much. He should be filled with pride for putting himself out there like that; instead the left in society are teaching him that he should be ashamed for promoting an imperialist policy (that just happens to liberate millions worldwide, and has troops coming home without seizing a penny of foreign loot for the supposedly “imperialist” country). No, Scott Olsen should be proud of himself, and shouldn’t be hating the Marines.
