Every generation, it seems, must have its Judas. In my day, one who accepted the 30 pieces of silver was former U.S. Navy Lt. John F. Kerry, now the senior senator from Massachusetts, proving that in Modern America, no bad deed goes unrewarded as long as the perpetrator is a liberal. I’ve written about the exploits of Mr. Kerry before, here and here, and I bring him up (an appropriate phrase) only as an introduction to the latest military hero of the unheroic Left, the ex-Marine wounded in action by law officers on Tuesday last, during the “Occupy” protests in Oakland, California. As reported by Verum Serum:
Scott Olsen is the Marine Corps veteran critically injured at Occupy Oakland Tuesday night, during a confrontation between the protesters and the police…
…It has been widely reported that Olsen is a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War. But apparently his opposition to the U.S. military and the Marine Corps in which he served runs a little deeper.
The site is no longer live, but Olsen was the founder of IHateTheMarineCorps.com, a private user forum apparently dedicated to bashing the Marine Corps.
…Using this information, I also uncovered a comment from Olsen on the Yahoo Answers site from last year where he is highly critical of the Marine Corps:
“The Marine Corps thrives on its image. They convince young men and women that they’re joining a professional military organization. But that’s not the case at all, every Marine knows it, and most have no problem downplaying the bullshit to outsiders so they can protect their “beloved corps”. I noticed some of the other posters have told you not to pay any attention to my site because we’re just a bunch of ********* who couldn’t hack it, right? Maybe not hacking it means we saw through the bullshit and don’t want to take it. Maybe the brainwashing didn’t work on us. I’m not here to tell you if you should join or not. I’m here to advise you to take the people who visit my website just as seriously as anybody who tries to sell you the MC as a good thing.
My site is anonymous, these people don’t have to worry about hiding from the MC, or protecting the MC’s image or anything. It is unfiltered truth.

I respect Scott Olsen’s service, even as I do John Kerry’s, abbreviated though it was. But when you subsequently use that service to give aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States and its Constitution, you have crossed a line. An article by Matthew Fleischer asserting support for the “Occupy” movement by veterans is typical of the liberal response to the injuring of Mr. Olsen:
We have a lot of military combat veterans in this country who haven’t been treated very well since they left the service.
Fleischer might be right about that. But fortunately, most of us are committed foes of the anti-American ideology that spawned the current left-wing demonstrations. This is the Oath that we all took upon induction:
“I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”
…“against all enemies, foreign and domestic” Please note that the Oath does not contain an expiration date. And if any dewy-eyed innocents should assume that the “Occupy” movement is populated largely by other than the domestic enemies of the United States, here is but one example to the contrary:
On Tuesday, militant, Marxist, anti-war, and gay-rights activists–including some suspected of providing material support to foreign terrorist organizations–led the Occupy Chicago protesters into City Hall to stage an “in your face” protest directed at Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
We caught up with one protester, Roger Fraser, a retired Palatine, Illinois school teacher. Fraser is a proud member of the “99%” who earns a modest $7,792.75 a month from his pension.
Fraser is also known as a militant gay rights activist and a member of the Gay Liberation Network–the same organization founded by Chicago G-8 and NATO protest organizer–and militant, anti-war, social-justice radical–Andy Thayer.
With leftist indoctrinators like Mr. Fraser having done the educating, it’s no wonder that 98.5% of the public high schools and 60% of the elementary schools in Illinois have failed to meet minimum standards. But let’s continue:
You may remember a previous interview from earlier this year, released by Andrew Breitbart, filmed at a Code Pink-led protest against the Koch brothers in Palm Springs, California–where Fraser called for “Revolution now,” and exclaimed, “Just like in Egypt!”
In the following interview, conducted yesterday inside City Hall, we asked Fraser if “this” was the kind of revolution he was talking about. Fraser told us, “This is the beginning.”
When asked what he thought it would take to achieve the activists’ goals, he remarked: “This kind of thing on a massive scale.“ He also answered in the affirmative as to whether or not the revolution would require collapsing the American government, and explained: “Because….the resistance against this will be overwhelming…very strong….and relentless.
‘Collapsing the American government’ … that is what the organizers of this movement want, that is what they’ve always wanted. And to their everlasting shame, much of the Democratic Party and the current President of the United States seem to want it too.
