Tạm Biệt, Sarge Charlie

Blogging buddy & fellow Vietnam vet Sarge Charlie answered his final roll call & posted his last blog entry on January 29.  Sarge was a good guy and a patriot to the last.  His parting words:

“My one regret is that I will not be able to vote President Obama out of office, I request that all my friends be sure to cast that vote for me……..”  (Sarge Charlie, final edition)

Tạm biệt, Sarge, goodbye and so long.  See you on the other side.

Wow, that was very moving. I have often wondered how someone, who knows they are going to die, will sign off on their web site, twitter or other social media. Now I know how people do it with dignity and honor.

He offered some very good advice for all of us in his last paragraph.

  5. bydesign001 says:

God bless you Charlie. Peace and blessings, patriot.

  6. The passing of a patriot who lived a good and full life.

A time not for grieving, but for reflection that, one day, we will all leave this life. May we have fulfilled our duty as well as Sarge Charlie.
