Back in the wild old days of the Sixties, the so-called underground press was the exclusive province of the counter-culture — the hirsute hippies, the malodorous Movement types, the middle-aged poets of the incomprehensible who never managed to get off the Road, and all the other purveyors of the anti-social, pseudo-mystical porridge that passed for enlightened thought in that drug-addled era. Incredibly enough, half a century later, most of those inane musings have somehow been codified into government policy. We fought a war on drugs and the drugs apparently won. The new underground press is now the conservative blogosphere, and if it’s not quite as colorful as the psychedelic rags of yore, it’s certainly doing a far better job of reportage than what passes for today’s mainstream media. Here are a few current examples:
Is President Obama A Pathological Liar? (Voting American)
The most frightening aspect of this president may not be his radical ideology but his rank dishonesty in selling that ideology. Now he’s been caught lying about family racism.
Garryowen…. and God speed (LeatherneckM31)
Now political correctness has turned the Custer National Battlefield National Monument (after more than 100 years) into the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument by a law signed by President George H.W. Bush.
The bill also authorized the creation of a cartoonish and inappropriate Indian memorial to be located on Last Stand Hill near the mass grave of more than 150 U.S. troopers.
Just Fine, Thanks (What Would The Founders Think)
During a recent press conference, President Obama stated, “The private sector is doing fine.” Naturally, that came as quite a shock to the private sector, who said, “This is fine? The house is so underwater I have to wear a snorkel to bed. Haven’t had a raise since the last decade. Plus, have you seen this rash? If this is fine, please don’t show us what mediocre looks like.”
Que Pasa, NPR? (The Camp Of The Saints)
The headline over at NPR reads: FBI Tracking 100 Suspected Extremists In Military
Woah there, Nellie! Does this mean there are, like, super-secret militia members in the Armed Forces? Or, given the past actions of this Anti-Administration, does this mean that some members of our military are — gasp! — TEA Party people?!? Unless you read the story, you would never know that it’s quite the opposite.
Libs Spin Commentary on Voter ID in PA (Conservative Hideout 2.0)
What happens when a state passes a Voter ID law? Generally, it is intended to make it more difficult to commit voter fraud. And, the general rule of thumb is that a Republican has to win by over one to two percentage points to overcome fraud. So, putting that all together, reducing fraud would allow a Republican a greater chance of winning. But, when a Republican politician points out that fact, it must be spun–and so it has…
Coal Miners: From Powering America to Powerless. Layoffs Announced. Brownouts Predicted (Freedom By The Way)
Businesses are forced to restructure all of the time due to market conditions. However, I believe only part of the restructuring is due to market conditions. A lot of the blame for new layoffs can be laid at the feet of new stringent EPA regulations, under President Obama’s energy policy which is heavily weighted against the use of coal. Can our country’s utilities operate as efficiently using natural gas instead of coal? All of us will find out soon …
Marxism and the Obama Administration Part 1 (Right Hook)
Many voters, on both sides of the aisle, get very squeamish when they hear things like “Obama is a Marxist” or “Obama is turning America into a socialist nation”. It can come across as extreme or conspiratorial, and frankly, Americans just don’t want to believe that their president is a bad guy who is fighting against everything we believe in and wants to destroy America as we know it.
Hard To Swallow (Grumpy Opinions)
Once again, the President of the United States is inviting you to register (to win!), donate, sign up for ‘We Love Barack’ e-mail blasts, and eat with him, Michelle, and four other ‘supporters’ at some point in the future. That’s a ’value’ of $4,800!
Wow.
This is small consolation when you consider that YOUR family’s slice of the debt-pie has grown $29,660 since the President passed his ‘Stimulus’ plans, increased government spending, and sent scores of Americans to the unemployment lines.
An optimistic view (Diary of a Mad Conservative)
Calling us racist is a pure and simple bunk argument when you have nothing else to argue. And they have nothing else to argue in defense of this president.
Who Are The Real “Deniers”? (My Tea Party Chronicle)
The real question is, how can anyone deny the existence of Agenda 21 when the facts are staring you right in the face? The real question is, why have our leaders sold out the U.S. Constitution and implemented a doctrine that completely undermines our sovereignty, our rights, our freedoms, and our economic security? The real question is, how many unelected agencies and bureaucrats are dangling borrowed taxpayer funding in front of our councils and commissions to bribe them into implementing this doctrine? Without a ratified treaty, our leadership has bypassed Congress and proceeded to economically rape this country in order to satisfy the power-mad on the global stage. Once economically broken, once resources are out of the hands of citizens, once herded into mega-regions into high density enclaves, our American sovereignty is gone. Global Marxism has been marching right into our lives, without our permission, through our own government, for years now…under obfuscated idyllic names meant to entice the unsuspecting.
The Childish Left (Conservatives On Fire)
Are there any adults in the Democrat Party? Or, do they behave like children because that is how they see the majority of American voters? … But, sometimes Democrats behave like children because that’s exactly what they are. Among the dimmest of the Democrats is Nancy Pelosi.
Thanks Bob for picking up my blog. 😉

Thank you Bob, sending Moos an email now to let him know
Thanks Grumpy!
I kinda like being part of an underground network. Thanks for including me, Bob.
After today’s SCOTUS decisions, we’re further below than we were yesterday. But yer welcome anyway, JIM.
Amass the troops, the battle is on the horizon.
Nice Bob.
Well, at least the House got it right on Holder, AFVET.
Bob,
Well, I won’t be spending the evening with Barack and Michelle (since I have no plans to enter), but getting a mention here on your site? Yeah, that’s pretty cool. Thanks for picking up the post over at Grumpy’s – keep up the good work.
Mike (Moos) Kane
Thanks, MIKE. Keep their feet to the fire.
Bob,
Thanks for posting my blog from WWTFT. Appreciate it!! I’ll have something to say about today’s SCOTUS Obamacare decsion later. Still a little punchy after that one.
The SCOTUS decision is just plain wrong. The Congressional power to tax does not include the power to force citizens to purchase a thing they might not freely choose.
Thanks for the link, Bob. I was out of town yesterday and just picked up on it.
Thanks for the informative post, FREE.
