A Tax By Any Other Name…

No matter what they call it, Florida ain’t goin’ for it.  Neither are Wisconsin and Louisiana. Governors Scott, Walker, and Jindal have flipped Obama and the rest of his Washington thimbleriggers the bird, so to speak, :

The Affordable Care Act does not require states to take any action before the 2012 general election, and the full law does not take effect until January 1, 2014, provided it is not repealed before that date. Governor Scott, like other state governors, has made it clear that even though Florida will opt out of implementing two major, yet optional, provisions, should there be any legal obligation to implement ObamaCare, the state will follow the law, and if ObamaCare is not repealed by January 1, 2014, Florida will implement and comply with required sections of the Affordable Care Act.

Florida will opt out of spending approximately $1.9 billion more taxpayer dollars required to implement a massive entitlement expansion of the Medicaid program. A second provision in the Affordable Care Act gives Governor Scott the flexibility to opt out of building insurance “exchanges.” (Rick Scott Statement: Florida Opts Out of Parts of ‘Obamacare’)

The crying shame is that, thanks to John Roberts, individual American citizens have no right to leave the game without paying the tax … or “penalty”, as jubilant socialist gangsters like Chucky Schumer and Barack Obama continue to falsely characterize it.

But if, as the ‘Progressives’ insist, ObamaCare is such a wonderful thing, why would anyone choose to opt out of it?  Here’s a few good reasons:

Tax or penalty? It doesn’t matter.  The cards are marked and the game is crooked.  It has to be shut down.

    Alan Caruba writes:

[…] As if President Obama has not already driven the nation’s economy to the brink of collapse and his administration has opposed enforcement of the Defense of Marriage Act, and has opposed Arizona’s efforts to secure its borders and its right to protect its citizens from illegal aliens, Obama has now brought about a crisis comparable to that which launched the Civil War.

  2. We have one last shot in November. We either win by a landslide and take the Senate or America is doomed. I’m not sure enough people are paying attention and too many see it as another freebie. We will know in four months.

Discouraging to hear tonight that Romney agrees with Obama that it is not a tax. Why would Romney’s spokesman go to MSNBC with this tale? Starting to think we are not going to go where we want to go with this Rino.

    • Bob Mack says:

If Romney’s gonna spend his campaign agreeing with Obama, why would anyone vote for pale pink when they can have scarlet red?

    • AFVET says:

That’s why we have to take the senate back to the conservative side.
If Romney wins, and begins to lean to the left, we have got to have the potential power to smack him back on course.

  6. Cheryl Pass says:

Bunker and Bob….Read that news today, too. The Obama clone Romney is already showing this early in the game. I thought he would at least wait until after he was elected. Not looking good. The Red or the Pink…either way. UGH. These are dark days.

It was foreseeable, he comes from the land of Ted Kennedy and John Kerry– those people make Mikhail Gorbachev look like a right wing extremist.. I’m afraid it’s to late to do much, we’re stuck with one or the other in the White House– Pink is better than scarlet, I guess.. We are being counted in the sure thing column the same way the Democrats assume they’ll get the black vote.

Over at TPN they’ve been talking about letting the GOP die a natural death, It can’t survive without conservatives… The time for that conversation was as soon as we realized we were being herded back into to the fold..

A seriously coordinated and targeted message would get the establishments attention… Something along the lines of the SOPA email protest. We wouldn’t have the numbers to repeat that But a smaller number of emails targeting different people on different days.. Instead of 4 million emails hitting 535 people in a day– more like a one million hitting Romney and McConnell in a day.. then hit someone else the next– The Message needs to be simple, “Pandering for illegal votes may cost you our vote”

Is it possible to coordinate, I don’t know

    • AFVET says:

      They ignore us.
They’re too busy running their re-election campaigns.
Vote the bastards out of office.
Send them e-mails everyday telling them that this is their last term in office.
Tell them that We the People are invoking term limits at the polling booth.
Laugh at them when they treat US as fools, however, they have the lifetime health care, and pensions, and the most are millionaires.
      Who’s laughing ?

      • Bob Mack says:

Limbaugh said this, & I agree:

The people who make this country work have never been angrier, and the people in Washington had better listen … The Romney camp has got to realize that this election is not about him; it’s about Barack Obama. This is a referendum on Barack Obama.

  9. Grumpy says:

Once we get past Obama we’re stuck with Obama Lite, an improvement, but not by much, We’ll still have too many people in the Senate ready to put party and Globalization ahead of America– Boehner is no prize. Besides people, there’s a big pile of accumulated muck, laws executive orders and regulations that need to be shoveled out and burned.
