Barry’s Last Dance

The Big Red One’s acceptance speech can be fairly summed up by this anagram for President Barack Hussein Obama — “A Democrat Speaks Inane Rubbish.”

These days, Barry’s on the Oldies tour.  His venues have been downsized, and he’s reduced to going through the motions as he reprises the hits of years gone by.  Enough fans have showed up tonight to make the nomination gig appear respectable — incorrigible groupies who know all the words and swing and sway at every tease on a favorite soak-the-rich riff — but even the gamest among them know that something’s missing.  The old Obama magic is gone.  He can’t hit the high notes anymore.  Crazy Joe Biden’s opening bit had more heart. This could be Barry’s last dance, and they all know it.

It drives hardcore fans like Chrissy Matthews crazy.  Chrissy’s bedroom is still plastered with Hope and Change posters, and he never fails to feel that rush, that tingle whenever he hears the opening bars of “Fair Share”. Chrissy doesn’t understand any of what seems to be happening: “The voters do want something for nothing, don’t they?”  Sure they do, he thinks.  That’s the high, that’s why they made Barry a star in the first place! What it is, Chrissy knows in his heart, if not for all those racists who listen to people like Rush Limbaugh and spew hate words like “Chicago”, his man would still be at the top of the charts. He fumes about the racists every day as he drives into Washington from his home in suburban Chevy Chase where only 1/2 of one percent of the residents are black.

“The times have changed – and so have I,” sings Barack Obama, desperately trying to mix up the medicine. But Bobby Dylan he’s not. His lyrics evolve, but his song is the same old, same old.  No wonder there’s not much call for an encore.

  1. My favorite part of he DNC was when Obama’s mascot, Joe Biden, spoke. What a nice puppy. I don’t understand the Democrat’s obsession with the morally corrupt sexual preditors like Teddy kennedy and slick Willy Clinton.

I can hardly wait for the debates.
Last time, Barry the wonder boy was up against John McCain, “our friend”.
This time he’s up against an accomplished businessman, a governor, and an economic expert.
It will be interesting to see how the moderators are able to control the program, or wish to.

Between now and election day look for the Democrats to pull out ALL the stops, to make deals and promises, to engage in some sort of *surge* if you will, one that is determined to show the American public what a *good President and wonderful, caring person* Barack Hussein Obama is. Don’t fall for it!
