Marxism In Mississippi

I’m goin’ to Jackson, I’m gonna mess around,
Yeah, I’m goin’ to Jackson,
Look out Jackson town. — Johnny Cash

republic-300x168Chokwe Lumumba, born Edwin Taliaferro in Detroit, Michigan, is a lawyer, a Maoist, and a revolutionary black nationalist. Founder of the Republic of New Afrika, an organization whose goal is to create an independent black communist nation in the American south, Lumumba has been the attorney of record for some of America’s most dangerous radicals, including cop killer and escaped convict Assata Shakur, aka Joanne Chesimard, the first woman ever to be named by the FBI as one of its ten most wanted terrorists. Chesimard was granted political asylum by Fidel Castro and is currently hiding in Cuba while a $2 million dollar reward for her capture waits to be claimed . And Chokwe Lumumba? Well, he’s residing in Jackson, Mississippi, where he happens to be the new mayor. Fellow radical Larry Hales, leader of the Worker’s World Party said,

“Lumumba’s political history did not scare away voters, nor did the bold and progressive Jackson Plan, which is reminiscent of the Republic of New Afrika’s program of the 1960s, calling for the establishment of an independent Black-led government in six former confederate states…

Upon his win, Mayor-elect Lumumba questioned the validity of the anti-Indigenous Columbus Day holiday, gave an interview in support of Assata Shakur and highlighted the Jackson Plan: A Struggle for Self-Determination, Participatory Democracy and Economic Justice.”

It can’t happen here? It already is.

Elections have consequences and that’s going to be one hard ass lesson for the people of Mississippi.

As for that “independent black communist nation,” hmmm, how well is that working out for African nations?

    • Hell Puma, Africa’s not doing bad- If like the folks Obama’s Brother Malik hangs out with, you’re a fan of Islamic dictatorships, genocide and slavery,

    • Bob Mack says:

Thanks, D. I assume it’s working the same in Africa as in every other place that’s tried it — the commissars live like kings while the citizens wait in line for their government cheese (if there’s any still available).

The problem is that people who don’t know what is going on in Africa are allowed to vote! States need to reassert their still existing reservation of power to determine the qualification of electors (Art. I, Sec. 2). The States agreed with the 4 Amendments ONLY that they would not deny the suffrage to people ON ACCOUNT OF race, sex, not paying a poll tax, or being 18 y/o but under 21 years.

States should have logic tests, tests on the Constitution, Declaration, etc. before one is qualified to vote in the State.

I have a paper on this, but do not wish to be tacky by linking to it.

This idea of an ‘independent’ black communist nation in the South has been a fantasy of the Internationale for at least 70 years. I first heard of it while I was researching my book on Jackie Robinson and the 1949 Brooklyn Dodgers.

        Link away, PUBLIUS!

          Thank you, Bob.
I wrote this 2 1/2 years ago after the 9th Circuit wrote the disgraceful decision which struck down Arizona’s Proposition 200 [which required applicants for voter registration to provide proof of citizenship].

Arizona’s Proposition 200: What The Constitution Really Says About Voter Qualifications & Exposing The “Elections Clause” Argument.

Now that the supreme Court has affirmed, I will revisit this and address the supreme Court’s even more disgraceful decision.
We have a majority of morons on that Court.

The States still have the retained power, as recognized by Art. I, Sec. 2, cl. 1, to set voter qualifications! They just don’t know it.
States should require applicants for voter registration to pass tests on current events, etc.
There are intelligent, well-informed People in this Country. But none of them seem to hold public office. And they are outnumbered by the Stupid.

  2. Freedom, by the way says:

Ah, let’s not get so riled up. This type of thing can tie the left up in knots for months or more! You have Black commies trying to “oversee” states filled with Latinos. The left elite won’t know what to do!

    From New Zeal blog:

Anyone who doubts that Jackson, Mississippi’s new Mayor Chokwe Lumumba remains a committed Marxist revolutionary should check out the video below.

Recorded in 1998 in Washington DC, comrade Lumumba lectures members of the terrorist Black Liberation Army on the need to free black “political prisoners” in the US.

Lumumba names convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal as one of those in need of “liberation”. He also lists several members of the Black Liberation Army, including another convicted cop murderer Assata Shakur, now hiding out in communist Cuba. Lumumba was Shakur’s lawyer.

Lumumba praises Marxist dictators Fidel Castro of Cuba and Kwane Nkrumah of Ghana, as former political prisoners made good. He also and makes it very clear that he despises American “imperialism”.
