The Worms Turn

Pelosi and AssadWhenever the likes of Barack Obama, John Kerry, and Nancy Pelosi begin to toot the tocsin of war, you can be sure that it will never be in America’s national interest to unlimber the caissons.  This unholy triumvirate of socialist peaceniks couldn’t coax flatulence from a plate of baked beans, let alone rally a reluctant public and a recalcitrant Congress to sanction armed force against a country that, despite its alleged domestic sins, Unholy Triumveratehas committed no hostile act against us.  But since Obama considers the Constitution an impediment, the military “his,” and the citizens who unaccountably placed him in office his vassals, no action except impeachment is likely to stay the presidential fist. Even the alarming facts that our military is moneyless and the British aren’t coming is not likely to dissuade this clueless Caesar of Connecticut Avenue.

Especially since there’s a modicum of evidence and even more speculation that the whole sordid scenario was engineered in the first place by Obama and the Muslim Brotherhood:

Whispers growing in D.C. of the possibility Libyan chemical weapons were part of the gunrunning operation out of Benghazi. Small amount to be used by rebel forces to create favor among American public for a more “robust” military intervention

Assad had no reason to use those weapons and in such a small amount. For what purpose? He is apparently winning the civil war by a wide margin. Rebel forces were disintegrating. Russia was providing continued support. Why do something that had no logistical benefit but would only give the United States reason to intervene?

Libya had stores of such weapons. From Benghazi to Turkey and then to the Syrian rebel forces which are for the most part being led by Al-Qaeda and factions of the Muslim Brotherhood…

Was also told another thing right after Kerry did his tears of terror talk today. He was so certain of who fired the missiles and where, and when. He had absolutely no doubt on the Intel. Funny how for days and weeks after Benghazi they didn’t have a clue and then excused all their so called mistakes to the “fog of war.” That doesn’t make sense to me. They want Americans to believe they are so right on Syria while accepting their reasons for being so wrong on Benghazi

This seems too much, even for this administration, but some people are quietly making some very compelling cases that it might really have happened.

UPDATE: Surprise! Obama’s going to Congress for approval to strike Syria.  Which means the fix is probably in.  But, just in case, he says he nevertheless has the authority under his executive powers to arbitrarily launch such a military assault. The Constitution, of course, does not support such action, but Obama has never much bothered with Constitutional niceties. Stay tuned.

UPDATE#2: A senior State Department official tells Fox News the president’s decision to take military action in Syria still stands, and will indeed be carried out, regardless of whether Congress votes next week to approve the use of such force. (Gretawire)

One believes to be true what one want to be true.

“But since Obama considers the Constitution an impediment, the military “his,” and the citizens who unaccountably placed him in office his vassals, no action except impeachment is likely to stay the presidential fist.”

Is there any lie you will not forward? Does your hatred for USA have no bounds?

“Surprise! Obama’s going to Congress for approval to strike Syria.” So, is the Constitution an impediment or not? Is President Obama following the Constitution or is he not?

Yes, Obama is going to Congress for approval of strikes against Syria. At the same time, he is leaving the door open to strikes without their approval, saying he believes he has the authority. He says he believes, but he gives no precedent for such a belief.

Newsflash to the President. Just because he believes doesn’t make it so.

EMA,I find it futile, counter-productive, and ultimately vexing to engage in discussion with liberal/leftists like you. When confronted by information that fails to fit the leftist paradigm, the liberal/leftist will always retreat into the use of childish invective. The liberal/leftist routinely accuses his opponents of hate speech, racism, and treason; yet it is invariably the latter who champion the U.S. Constitution; who believe in the primacy of the individual over the collective; who believe that government is not the master of the people but its servant. And it is the liberal/leftist who actively promulgates that of which he accuses his enemies.

  5. LD Jackson says:

I have been thinking Obama has finally been slapped down and put in his place. Personally, I do not believe Congress will approve a military strike against Syria. If that is the case and Obama goes ahead with this madness, then it would appear he has much more to learn about his position in our Constitutional Republic form of government.

    From Examiner.com:

Barack Obama’s presidency has not been about restraining the powers of the presidency. On major issues both domestic and international — immigration, environmental regulation, the war in Libya, and more — Obama has shown no hesitation to act unilaterally in areas that properly lie within the purview of Congress. But now, the president says that even though he has decided the U.S. should attack the Syrian regime over its use of chemical weapons, he will ask Congress to give him permission to do so.

It’s not entirely clear why Obama has decided to exercise restraint now when he has not done so in the past. Has he experienced a sudden conversion in which he gained new respect for the Constitution’s limits on executive authority? Does he really want to do nothing, and secretly hopes Congress will reject his proposal? Or has he made an essentially political decision to make sure Congress shares the blame for any calamity that might result from his lack of a clear Syrian policy?

Whatever the reason, one thing is clear: Obama has set up a potentially critical confrontation between the executive and the legislative branches. It won’t be about the substance of what he proposes to do, that is, whether is it a good idea to attack Bashar al-Assad’s forces or not. Instead, it will be about whether a president is bound to follow the will of lawmakers who have the ultimate constitutional authority over whether the nation goes to war.

The simple question: If Congress rejects Obama’s proposal, will he abide by its decision, or will he use his powers as commander-in-chief to attack Syria anyway?

  7. AFVet says:

If congress gives a thumbs down and Obama does it anyway, impeachment proceedings should commence.
I would love to see the senate refuse to impeach under those circumstances.
At the very least, it would be a shot across Obama’s bow.

If Bathhouse Barry and his al-Qaeda buddies have any chemicals left over, there’s a warehouse in West LA where four people could take up residence for a SHORT time. Three of ’em are in the side-by-side picture that’s above. Chuck “I’ve Been Drunk Since 1968” Hagel would be the fourth. These four are just for starters. Plenty more where these come from!

And be sure to leave some stacking room for Enema “Notmyname” Nematode.

  9. We have zero business getting involved in a civil war inside the borders of Syria.

Frankly, I have no problem with Moslems killing other Moslems. Call me cold-hearted. I don’t care!

I am convinced that Obama is a Muslim. I don’t mean in a casual way, I mean a deeply devout Muslim that has lied his way to the top of the American political chain to become the most powerful man on earth.

I am also convinced that Obama is a narcissist with a massive ego, one that can be used against him, and I believe that the Muslims that Obama has embraced see that too and are now engaging in an attempt to psychologically manipulate Obama into playing their game, their way.

Obama is playing games my friend; he is trying to *game* the Syrians, the Muslim Brotherhood and the citizens of this United States of America. Obama is hoping that Congress approves his idea of striking Syria, even though there has been no solid proof that the Syrian regime gassed its own people, and failing that, with or without Congressional approval, he is going to hit Syria anyway.

It’s that EGO thing, Obama is going to try and prove that he is a MAN. Sadly, he can’t SPELL man.

  11. Mustang says:

I favor sending BHO personally into Syria to settle this matter Mano y Mano … But only after shoving Enema’s head up Obama’s ass.
