The Imperial Jackass

I Can Do Whatever I Want“I’m fairly confident in saying, we haven’t seen this ever. Our system is broken. It is severely broken. When a president can defy the law over and over and over again, without any of the other federal branches acting to stop it, it’s unprecedented.” — Rush Limbaugh

The concept of “honor” is not usually associated with the word “politician,” and especially not with the professional slanderers and subverters who have successfully corrupted the party of the Democrats, a once semi-respectable crew whose trademark should surely now be changed from a jumping jackass to a hissing snake-in-the-grass.  This is a party that’s been hijacked by agenda-driven left-wing ideologues whose radical ends justify any and all means:

Historians may conclude that the presidential election of 2012 was the last chance to undo the authoritarian encroachment. Pervasive Obama administration harassment of political opponents by its Internal Revenue Service, serial lying about the September 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack, and the mother of all 21st century lies — “if you like your health care plan, doctor, medical provider, and drug regimen, you can keep them” — inarguably delegitimized its result.

Things have now gotten so out of hand that a president consumed with arrogance can go in front of his nation and tell it that he plans to exceed his constitutional authority — and get a standing ovation from the same people who said they were scared to death of “the imperial presidency” a decade ago(Is It Over, and We Just Don’t Know It?)

Red and Diaper BabyIt’s no surprise that Barack Obama’s authoritarian streak is revealing itself at last. It was always there; clearly apparent in his rhetoric (e.g., his envy of Chinese president Xi Jin-ping’s powers), his abuse of executive orders, his threats against Congress, his sultan with fly-whisk attitudes toward his opposition, and even his vacations, which reek more of third-world trash gamboling on the Riviera than any American leader … All this raises two questions: the first, how a healthy polity could have elected such a creature … The second, and more urgent is: how far can this go? (Obama’s Fate)

The modern American polity, at least half of which should never be allowed to play with sharp objects, hasn’t been healthy for a long time and can’t be trusted to protect its heritage with ballots, not as long as 51% of it is enamored of “progressive” savants like Barack Obama whose concept of America is of a country where what was considered right has always been irredeemably wrong.   To allow a man like this to wield unchecked power is like playing Russian roulette with a machine gun.

This is the future of America? A President of the United States changing the law by fiat? One can only imagine the foaming outrage that would swamp the airwaves and liberal precincts if a President Cruz applied what can now be called “The Obama Precedent” to Roe v. Wade or any other issue that is at the center of the liberal/conservative split.

  • Gay marriage? Gone by fiat.
  •  Go back to war in Iraq? Done by fiat.
  • Obamacare? Abolished by fiat.
  • Criminalize the Center for American Progress or Media Matters? Done by fiat through the IRS.

Make no mistake. What is happening with the repeated changes in Obamacare and the use of the IRS is setting precedent. And it is precedent that liberals will come to regret. (Should The President Be Impeached?)

Who will bridle this imperious executive?  Not the Republicans.  They have no stomach for battle.  Certainly not the Democrats —  no one should expect a defense of principle from a party that has none.  And so we slide ever closer to the lip of the abyss.

‘Who will bridle this imperious executive’?
Who will rein in the administration that he relies on to push his agenda forward ?
Who will rein in the congress that allows him and his administration to run roughshod over the Constitution of the United States ?
    The People will try to.
The upcoming election, and the primaries should give us some indication as to which direction this effort to take back the Country is headed.
Wars are won by winning the battles,…one by one.

I think that the Patriots are tired of the onerous overbearing infractions this president is willing to shove down our throats.
    Enough is enough.
Time to take our Country back.

Maybe when the electric bills go up 80% due to Obie’s “clean coal” regulations & 500,000 more folks are out of work due to Obamacare. There must come a point when people are fed up with left-wing lies, doesn’t there?

  4. In re your link to the Spectator piece, here is cut and pasted my comment on Jeff Lord’s warning:

The nit to pick with Mr. Lord’s article is that NOTHING, A BSOLUTELY NOTHING, the Democrats or their presidents or their senators or their congressmen ever comes back to haunt them. Cruz isn’t going to do any such thing, and the Dems know it. As in campaigning, when McCain refused to attack Obama, and the next presidential candidate refused to attack Obama, the Dems could nominate Josef Stalin and the R’s would refuse to attack him.
So, as a lesson in civics and a lesson in evil, Mr. Lord’s piece is good, but as a warning to Dems, or to the Republican establishment, we passed that milepost several years ago
