No Respect At All

No Respect At All

“I was so poor growing up, if I wasn’t born a boy, I’d have nothing to play with.  I was such an ugly kid; when I played in the sandbox the cat kept covering me up.” — Rodney Dangerfield

Barack Obama is the Rodney Dangerfield of politics: he gets no respect, no respect at all.  Certainly not from Vladimir Putin, whose planes have lately buzzed both our coasts and our ships in the Med; not from the American people, 2/3 of whom are desirous of both a quick end to both Barry’s domestic socialism and his appeasement abroad; not from our allies, who would rather go into a bar fight with Barney Fife than the Barney Got Yer Back44th President of the United States — and, if rumors are correct, not even from his profligate spouse, whose monthly vacations have dunned the suffering taxpayer for more  millions than even her husband’s interminable golf outings.  At least he has sense enough to use the ruse of “official business” before jetting off to hit the links.

“We sleep in separate rooms, we have dinner apart, we take separate vacations – we’re doing everything we can to keep our marriage together.” — Rodney Dangerfield

But the problem is not just Obama.  It’s the Democratic Party:

Democrats continue to insist that Benghazi is nothing more than a witch-hunt to embarrass the president and the former secretary of state. The truth is they should both be personally embarrassed by their disgraceful conduct, each following a personal agenda and both with total disregard for the Americans who lost their lives in Libya

The further frustration lies in the fact that Democrats are rallying to the president, covering for him by calling Boehner’s demand for a select committee on Benghazi bogus, and by threatening to boycott the hearings. In what universe does it not matter that American diplomats were humiliated and slain in the streets of a foreign country and it is more important to worry about upcoming elections than getting to the truth?

If people aren’t ready to jettison the Dems, they deserve to go down with the ship.  The Jackasses have proved themselves so incompetent in the conduct of foreign affairs that it borders on outright treachery; on the home front, they’ve succeeded in ruining theHindenburg1 healthcare industry and in increasing the cost of everything from hamburgers to heating oil.  For the Democrats, the looming mid-term elections bode to be a worse disaster than the one that ruined the German dirigible business. The question is, does the leadership even care?  Do they view the probable loss of their Senate majority as collateral damage in their campaign to socialize America?  Or have they merely come to believe their own lies?

“I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous — everyone hasn’t met me yet.” — Rodney Dangerfield

Either way, the Dems are about to get their heads handed to them.  And they won’t be able to blame that on Bush — they’ve done it to themselves.

If the GOPers would get off the taking points issue and move on to the more important aspects we would be better served. In the end,if what many of us think that the purpose of all of the CIA folks being there were for nefarious reasons may come out, and we will be vindicated for keeping at this.
