The most galling result of the 2012 election, other than its depressing and bewildering conclusion, is the insufferable smugness of incurable leftist prigs like Chrissy Matthews and Billy Maher, elitist liberal cheerleaders who are now certain that most of the country share their pernicious pathologies — and the sad fact is that maybe they’re right. Maybe honor, morality and self reliance are things of the past; as obsolete in modern America as the rotary phone and the village smithy. After all, when a national magazine like The Atlantic ranks a first class nanny state politico like New York’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg as a “brave thinker”, you can be absolutely sure that “brave” and “thinker” no longer mean much of anything at all, at least in those regions of thin air where dwelleth the oxygen-starved progressive.
On the other hand, common sense is not completely extinct. A Nielsen survey released today indicates that more Americans would prefer hosting second string Jets quarterback Tim Tebow at Thanksgiving dinner than a political turkey like Barack Obama. Small wonder — it’s hard to enjoy a meal when you’re worried about one of your guests redistributing your silverware. Maybe there’s hope for us yet.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Mr. AOW and I are determined not to let Obama and his minions completely ruin this Thanksgiving for us. After all, none of us know whether or not this is our last November in this life.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving, Bob. To hell with politics on this day — a patriotic day, too.
Thanks, AOW & best wishes to you & yours. I’d like to say to hell with politics every day, but I believe it was Pericles who said, “You may ignore politics, but that doesn’t mean that politics will ignore you.”

Surely, we thought that this Thanksgiving the country would be celebrating the demise of a tyrant. The reality that we have been denied is painful but we must keep the faith and stand strong.
Peace and blessings to you and your family on this beautiful Thanksgiving Day Bob. D.
Election Day was a bad day for us but a good one for Jack Daniels … have a great holiday, D.
