“What I like to drink most is wine that belongs to others.” — Diogenes
At a state sup hosted by one socialist in honor of another, it’s surprising that no one was invited to eat the rich. Still, a survey of Obama’s dinner menu indicates that our Head Commissar has no problem eating like the rich. At least as long as he’s not the one picking up the tab.
Barry’s royal consort appeared in garb that cost more than the gross national product of Burundi. Colored black and blue in honor of the U.S. economy, the Mooch’s get-up dazzled breathless admirers of the national debt. But who paid for the Red Queen’s finery? As Keith Koffler points out, “…it’s not like Obama is an industrialist. Likely it was gift from the designer, Carolina Herrara, or at least provided at a steep First Lady discount. Still, in my humble opinion, WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY. The immodesty and decadence from the nation’s leading battlers for the poor continues.”
On the other hand, Obama’s choice of discounted dinner wines earned him the scorn of grape gourmands, at least one of whom equated the national defense with jugs of fermented berry juice:
“Sure, State Dinners are expensive, but has anyone taken a look at the Department of Defense budget and procurement lately?”
