The Left-Handed Tyrant

Democracy is always only skin deep with this bunch.  Progressives, Liberals, Socialists … it doesn’t really matter what they’re called, or what fashionable appellation they’re currently using in an attempt to hide the un-American malevolence of their true natures — scratch a Democrat and you’ll find a velvet-gloved tyrant.  The latest bit of evidence, as if any more was needed, has been provided by Senator Dick Durbin, (G)asbag, Illinois:

[…]  “You’d have to say that the last year and a half of tea party dominance in the House has been a very unproductive period, and they’ve been unwilling to take and even consider some of these issues … The president needs to consider taking action by executive order when Congress will not respond to a major national challenge.

Mr. Durbin is clearly unhappy with the American system, at least when it results in the wholesale political cashiering of his left-wing co-conspirators. A “major national challenge”, of course, is to be defined only by the Democrats, and its remedy always consists of one or another of the inane schemes which the Jackasses have been unable to railroad through Congress.  But despite the lamentations of Dustbin Dick and his clamorous ilk, it’s not as if Barack Obama has ever sheathed his poison pen.  He’s issued 127 Executive Orders since 2009, diktats which were never supposed to be utilized as a means for headstrong presidents to bypass Congress. Their purpose is

to help officers and agencies of the executive branch manage the operations within the federal government itself. Executive orders have the full force of law, since issuances are typically made in pursuance of certain Acts of Congress, some of which specifically delegate to the President some degree of discretionary power (delegated legislation), or are believed to take authority from a power granted directly to the Executive by the Constitution. However, these perceived justifications cited by Presidents when authoring Executive Orders have come under criticism for exceeding Executive authority; at various times throughout U.S. history, challenges to the legal validity or justification for an order have resulted in legal proceedings.

Obama’s predecessor was likewise no model of restraint when it came to arbitrary fiat, but at least he never granted himself the powers of a Caesar, to be arbitrarily invoked at his own discretion; nor did he declare America to be a battleground wherein its citizens could be designated enemy combatants and indefinitely detained by military authorities.

Governance by the Democrats at the executive level, Slick Willie notwithstanding, always seems to end the same way: after suffering a few years of indigestible policies and affronts to liberty, the collective innards of the citizenry begin to roil, and the head Jackass and his minions are soon thereafter summarily expelled by an emetic election:

We Are Now Watching The Democrat Party Implode, Right Before Our Eyes | Doug Ross @ Journal

What would you call a General who abandoned his troops on the battlefield? I would call him “General Obama”. The worst president in American history (Jimmy Carter just breathed a sigh of relief) — who has set the country up for both fiscal and national security disasters — is literally tearing the Democrat Party apart.

… the Democrat knives are out for Obama. But why is all of this happening now?

Because the Clinton Wing of the Democrat Party is astute enough to know what’s coming. I believe we are watching the first signs of a political tsunami. In state after state, Barack Obama has marshaled only 60% of the vote… as an incumbent president in the Democrat freaking primaries.

That’s not to say any of this will be easy. It will be a pitched political battle, with every dirty trick, every left-wing media “October Surprise” hit-job, and every illegal voting gambit known to man. It will take all of us, working as hard as we can, to educate our family members, our friends, our neighbors and our colleagues and to ensure that the margin of victory surpasses what I like to call “The Holder Margin“.

But I feel, deep in my gut, that a Tsunami is about to wash across the American landscape like nothing any of us have ever seen before.

And after the Marxist Left splinters the Democrat Party into tiny little shards, it will be time for we Constitutional Conservatives to take on our next challenge.

Because our work won’t be done.

Our next task will be to replace the cowardly, Rockefeller-style leadership of the Republican Party with patriots who are more interested in saving the country than their own pathetic hides. Our next task is to continue to put the United States back on the road of Constitutionalism, the greatest system of government ever devised by man.

The Constitution? As Nancy Pelosi would say, “Are you kidding?”

No, Ma’am.  We’re not.

  1. I do hope Mr. Ross is right! I am sensing that the tide is rising in our favor. But, we can’t let up. Axelrod and Van Jones are sure to have some nasty tricks planned for the coming months.

    From The American Thinker:

    A Pre-Revolutionary Situation

[…] Wouldn’t you know, the bookstores are groaning these days with pompous titles about the radicalism of the Republican Party…When a ruling elite starts to fail, you’d expect this sort of thing. How dare, how dare those peasants challenge our divine right to rule?!

The United States is entering a pre-revolutionary situation, where a significant faction in one of the political parties has said: “We’re getting screwed; the deal’s off.” And that is exactly what James Piereson is arguing in “The fourth revolution” in The New Criterion. We are entering a period of revolutionary upheaval, he writes, caused not just by the Crash of 2008 and budget deficits, but by “the exhaustion of the post-war system of political economy that took shape in the 1930s and 1940s.” Cue Margaret Thatcher: “They always run out of other people’s money.”

Funny how those books never bemoan real radicalism, which belongs exclusively to the Democrats.

Don’t know from where the Big Red One gets his news … Rasmussen reports that Romney’s now up 3 points in formerly true-blue Wisconsin.

    From WT 24/7:

President Barack Obama said Tuesday night he believed the majority of Americans were not closely following the ups and downs of the presidential campaign.…

Speaking at a fundraiser at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, Obama said he believed the good news is that the American people agree with his campaign’s policies of moving the country forward.
