For Whom The Cow Bell Tolls

Dirty Harry

“Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert.  And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it.” — Wayne Allyn Root

“The standoff in the Nevada desert wasn’t about a desert tortoise or a rancher’s failure to pay grazing fees. It was about the state’s senior senator again enriching himself and his family at public expense.” — IBD

“This isn’t over.” — Harry Reid

Why Is U.S. Senator Harry Reid So Concerned With A Local Nevada Rancher?

[…] It has been pointed out by journalists intent on covering for Reid that a $5 billion Chinese solar project backed by Reid was recently shelved. But what they forgot to mention is Reid’s involvement in multiple solar and wind projects across the Nevada desert. Only days ago, Senator Reid was featured in a photo at a groundbreaking ceremony for a new solar project. Where is that project located? Just 35 miles from the Bundy ranch in Bunkerville, Nevada. If The Shoe Fits

Senator Reid’s fingers are in virtually every solar and wind project in the Nevada desert. Green energy is his obsession. Green energy is his baby. His vision is turning the Nevada desert into the “Green Energy Capital of America.”

Who benefits from that vision? Democratic donors who run green energy companies. Who stands in the way of that vision? Nevada’s ranchers, farmers and property owners — almost all of whom are diehard Tea Party conservatives and patriots who despise Reid.

Harry Reid has never held a real job in his long and miserable life.  Yet, he has managed to become one of the filthy rich — and he didn’t have to marry a wealthy dowager to do it:

Try this thought experiment. Imagine that someone grows up in poverty, works his way through law school by holding the night shift as a Capitol Hill policeman, and spends all but two years of his career as a public servant. Now imagine that this person’s current salary — and he’s at the top of his game — is $193,400. You probably wouldn’t expect him to have millions in stocks, bonds, and real estate. But, surprise, he does, if he’s our Senate majority leader, whose net worth is between 3 and 10 million dollars, according to OpenSecrets.org.(How Did Harry Reid Get Rich?)

Is Harry dirty?  The F.B.I. thinks so, but their investigatory efforts have been stymied by Barack Obama’s top cop:

While the Justice Department was busy compiling a case against Obama critic Dinesh D’Souza for minor campaign-law violations, it was blocking a more troubling probe involving the Senate’s top Democrat … In one incident being investigated, Reid allegedly switched sides and sponsored an online gambling bill after he allegedly received money from the industry. A senior FBI official told ABC News the inaction by the DOJ “risks creating the perception of a cover-up.”

It’s not like this sort of corruption charge is wildly out of character for ReidEven the mainstream press has picked up the foul stench of his past activities. In 2012, Reuters reported that Reid had been doing yeoman’s work on behalf of a Chinese energy firm, ENN, that wanted to build a $5 billion solar panel plant in Nevada. Turns out Reid’s son Rory worked at the law firm representing that very same company. The Washington Post reported that in 2004 and 2005, Reid earmarked $21.5 million for a bridge linking a gambling resort town in Nevada with a city in Arizona where Reid just happened to own 160 acres of undeveloped land. Reid also reportedly funneled some $47 million in earmarks that directly benefited organizations his son Key was affiliated with. And last year, a close Reid friend, Harvey Whittemore, was found guilty of directing more than $130,000 worth of illegal funds into Reid’s re-election war chest.

It appears Harry made his dough the old fashioned way — kickbacks and influence peddling.  This guy looks as crooked as a country cow path.

The federal gangsters are after Cliven Bundy today. But tomorrow? Ask not for whom the cow bell tolls — it tolls for thee.
